The Association for Life with Glut 1 "aGLUT1nate", It is a human team made up of mothers and fathers. We have joined forces in order to unite and create.
The families that make up aGLUT1nate today have worked to find patients, unite families and promote research, as well as promoting the dissemination of the pathology since 2014.
In 2016, we promoted and collaborated in the organization of the first Medical Congress for families with Glut 1 in Spain. The event was held at the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Barcelona.
In 2017, we collaborated in the organization of the first Ketogenic Diet Conference in Córdoba. The event was held at the Reina Sofía Hospital in Córdoba.
In 2019, we promoted and collaborated in the organization of the second Medical Congress for families with Glut 1 in Spain. The event was held at the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid.
The objectives of the Association for Life with Glut 1
Glut 1 deficiency
The representation and defense of the rights and interests of people affected by Glut 1 Deficiency.
Social and educational support for affected individuals. Improving the well-being and quality of life of patients with Glut 1 Deficiency.
Promote equality for people with gluten deficiency 1. Collaborate so that children, adolescents and young people receive adequate educational support. Promote the insertion of adults into the labour market, respecting their rights to perform decent work without any type of discrimination.
Mobilize the search for aid from public and private entities.
Carry out out outreach and social awareness work on Glut 1 disease. Work to raise awareness and visibility of Glut 1 Deficiency.
Establish a policy of cooperation with national and international entities. Agree on collaborations with entities especially at the national and European level.
Establish a cooperation policy with those entities that, upon prior agreement of both parties, are accepted by the general assembly.
Support research into the disease by promoting and collaborating in activities that promote it.
Develop and develop projects that help to understand the reality of patients. Carry out projects to improve needs in the school environment.
Promote that families and patients with Glut 1 meet and share experiences together. Organize meetings for patients and families to raise awareness of the disease.
